turbo pascal Definition: A software development suite popular in the 1980's and 1990's developed by Borland Software Corporation. Turbo Pascal was the less-expensive and more widely distributed variant of Borland Pascal, which was the precursor to what is now known as Delphi. The development suite included a compiler and an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and was available primarily for MS-DOS and CP/M. It is widely taught in middle and high schools for introductory structured programming skills, however it is still in use in some corporate environments even today. The last version published was 7.01, back in 1992. One item of interest - A flaw was discovered in one of TP's units that caused a program to fail when running on a computer with a CPU faster than 200 megahertz. There are patches and programs widely available to fix this flaw. Usage: You can download Turbo Pascal version 5.5 for free if you Google it. Posted by sinclaj1 on July 27, 2009 at 09:13:02 Pacific |
