sheath Definition: In electronics, a small plastic tube wrapped round a length of cable so that the purpose of the cable can be identified. Usually a particular colour but can have writing in it as well. Usage: Putting a colour coded sheath on cable can save hours of work when trying to trouble shoot complex network wiring.
