Serial ATA Definition: Serial ATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment)or SATA is an interface used to connect ATA hard drives to a computer's motherboard. It has a point-to-point channel between drive and motherboard. It is a standard hard disk interface for desktop PCs. Usage: With a Serial ATA interface, each disk drive has its own cable that connects directly to a Serial ATA host adapter or a Serial ATA port on your motherboard.
