 SB Definition: Part of the chipset. South Bridge is a control logic that usually incorporates Hard Disk, USB, Ethernet, Audio, controllers. Also SMbus, DMA, and real time clock functionality is included. Sometimes on some chipsets is integrated into the North bridge. Usage: South Bridge on my motherboard gets too warm.
