 Sales Guy Definition: Overpaid moron who tries to gain commission by selling the item that gives him the best bonus, no matter what the customer's needs really are. Often promises much more than Tech/Engineering can deliver for the price and time available. Bad ones quickly show their lack of knowledge when an intelligent person asks questions of them. Competent ones make phony compliments to try to smooth the customer. They hide their lack of knowledge by deftly changing the subject when asked something outside of their comfort zone. Good ones go away when you tell them to. Usage: Have an obscure technical question ready when a sales guy descends upon you, just in case you don't get a good one who goes away when asked.
