RISC Definition: n. An acronym short for Reduced Instruction Set Computer. It is a processor architecture which utilizes a small, yet optimized set of low-level instructions to carry out processing tasks. The most popular use would be in IBM's Power series of CPUs, used in Apple's G-series Macs. It also forms the basis for the Cell processor. Usage: RISC architecture is the future of computing.
