 Rip Definition: 1) When referring to computers, Rip usually means to copy the songs from a CD to your personal computer, usually converting each song to MP3 format, but many other formats are available. 2) Rip also stands for "Routing Information Protocol" which is a dynamic routing protocol used in local and wide area networks. This is used by routers connecting LANs to exchange routing table information to determine the best path through the network at any point in time.
