openbox Definition: In a B&M store, it refers to a product that has been opened, usually because the item was returned, or because a customer needed to verify something specific about the product. The store will usually tape the box shut, put it back on the shelf, and discount it. Usage: Wow, I got a 10% discount because this DVD player was an openbox.
