LGA Definition: n. An acronym for Land Grid Array. Similar to PGA, it is a system for facilitating electrical contact between components (particulary CPUs and motherboards). LGA systems use a series of small metal pads on the bottom of the component to be attached, which match up to a series of small pins in the motherboard socket. Usage: I feel more comfortable juggling these expensive CPUs since Intel switched to an LGA system. No bent pins for me! Posted by taintsauce on July 23, 2009 at 10:52:05 Pacific |
