data center Definition: A data center is a climate controlled building or warehouse where many clusters of computers and servers are housed. There is usually redundant power as well as high speed internet backbone lines providing uninterrupted access to the internet and is secured from the public to protect the servers and the data on those servers. Data centers are usually used by companies and individuals to house their web servers or other servers which require uninterrupted and extremly high speed internet service.
