CAPTCHA Definition: A CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart) is a security testing method deployed online in order for a computer to discern and validate human versus bot interaction. Typically CAPTCHAs are deployed in the form of prompting a user to type in a form the distorted word in a background image that he or she sees. Usage: CAPTCHA can be quite effective in thwarting unwanted computer-generated spam responses to a web site form, but it is not a full-proof security measure.
