80486 Definition: The Intel processor that succeeded the 80386 and preceded the 80586 which was later named the Pentium. The 80486 integrated the math coprocessor or the Floating Point Unit on their 486DX which they took out on the budget processor 486SX This was about the time the first multimedia computer came out which actually had sound instead of just beeps.
